CSWA Exam Information

The CSWA is the SolidWorks Associates certification exam that is geared towards college students.

It is recommended that you take the CSWA Practice Exam before you take the actual exam! Even though you can make the parts, doing it in a timed environment can be stressful and inadvertently slow us down. Taking the practice exam under simulated testing environments can help you with your jitters.

Steps to Start the Exam

You should have received a code from your instructor in order to start the CSWA. It is a 3 hour exam with no breaks! If you have a disability, please see your instructor; extra time can be added to your exam by contacting Dassault Systems.

You must have internet access to complete the certification exam!

Step 1

Visit https://3dexperience.virtualtester.com/ to access the certification page. Click on “Download TesterPro Client.”

Step 2

This will prompt you to download the file “Tangix TesterPRO Client.exe” Once downloaded, double click on it to run it.

Step 3

Read and accept the license agreement. Once you agree, the software will connect to the Dassault Server.

Step 4

You will be asked to specify and installation location; install the file on the local desktop.

Step 5

Once installed, run Tangix TesterPRO.

Step 6

Select the language you prefer for the exam.

Step 7

If you do not already have a VirtualTester UserID, create one now. You should use an email that is NOT your SMC email, as you may wish to have access to your certificate after you’ve moved on from SMC. Please use your legal name, so that the instructor can match your results with your name.

Step 8

Select SOLIDWORKS to show the list of available exams.

Step 9

Enter the voucher number your professor gave you into the text box labelled “Event ID / Voucher” and press Submit. The number should take on the form T-XXXXXXXX. Note that there is no option to select the CSWA exam in the scroll-down list, as it is only accessible by voucher.

Step 10

At this point, selecting OK will start the exam and will void further use of the voucher number. You will have a total of 3 hours to complete the exam. Results will be sent directly to your instructor. Good luck!
