About Me

My name is Tram Dang. I like the sciences, the outdoors, and teaching. I also like good-natured pranks, critters of all kinds, and chocolate. And despite my abilities to make a clean-looking website, I am quite technologically defunct. What is that pound sign for anyway? Pound sign confused.

I am currently a professor of engineering-physics at Santa Monica College. I received my Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from UC San Diego, working under the guidance of Dr. Clifford P. Kubiak, PhD, a professor of chemistry. While there, I studied the effects of heterogenizing homogeneous carbon dioxide converting electrocatalysts by covalently binding them to conductive, electrochemically inert electrodes. I received my bachelor’s degree in physics-biophysics also at UC San Diego, with programs of concentrations in history and psychology. As an undergraduate student, I worked under Dr. Beatrice Golomb, MD, PhD, studying the long term effects of statins through double-blind, clinical trials. (Dr. Golomb is also an advocate of chocolate consumption.)
